Best Coffee Shops to Work Remotely in Seattle
A list of recommended Wi-Fi friendly coffee shops near Seattle to work remotely. Updated regularly.
Are you in search of the ultimate spots in Seattle for remote work? After relocating to the Ballard neighborhood of North Seattle in 2021, and then to Magnolia in 2024, I've been on the hunt for the best coffee shops and bakeries in and around the city. My criteria are twofold: these venues must not only foster a productive work atmosphere but also boast a delectable range of food and beverages.
Below, youβll find my list of recommended (and not-so-great) bakeries and coffee shops in Seattle to work remotely. Iβll keep this page updated regularly.

Pilgrim Coffeehouse (Greenwood/Bitter Lake)
Typical weekday hours: π’ 6am - 6pm
Address: π 10002 Aurora Ave N Ste 22 Seattle, WA 98133 (Located in Oak Tree Village)
Wi-Fi speed: π Fast (115 Mbps β / 96Mbps β)
π Good
- My favorite spot to grab a coffee, pastries, and get some work done. Very fast and reliable Wi-Fi. Excellent place to get out of the house and work from.
- Ample seating, although it can sometimes get busy. Lots of regulars seem to work from here. It's especially busy during the weekend.
- The service here is incredible; all the staff is super friendly and bring your order to your table. Also, I've never been to a coffee shop where they bus your table and fill up water!
- The coffee itself is always super smooth and delicious (they roast their own!).
- Their pastries totally caught me by surprise. The ham and cheese croissant has so much flavor, and they have a very tasty almond croissant. I haven't tried any of their sandwiches or kitchen items yet, but they look good! There's an open kitchen in the back.
- Music: I swear they've copied my Spotify playlists because it's the same music I listen to (indie folk and some Americana). That's the icing on the cake for me!
π€ Meh
- I really canβt think of any other than that itβs a little off the beaten path, off highway 99.
π Internet Access
- Wi-Fi password with gated access; ask for the password at the counter. No time limit.
Woodland Coffee (West Woodland/Ballard)
Typical weekday hours: π’ 6:30am - 6pm
Address: π1417 NW 54th St #101, Seattle, WA 98107
Wi-Fi speed: π Fast (44 Mbps β / 55Mbps β)
π Good
- Very fast and reliable Wi-Fi. I live close by, so this is my usual spot when I just need to get out of the house and change up the scenery.
- Very cozy and woodsy "PNW" vibe with hardwood floors, bar-height tables, bench seating up front near the entry windows, and a lounge area in the back. Plenty of seating and there's also an outdoor garden/patio area for nice days. It can get busy, I typically see people working or studying from here.
- Dog friendly! πΆ They have treats and water bowls for your pup.
- Coffee is good, they always have a couple nice artisanal roasts on hand, and the baristas are always friendly!
π€ Meh
- The pastries and bakery items aren't to die for. The selection is usually on the drier sideβscones, biscuits, etc. I've had much better options elsewhere in the area, and there is no kitchen.
π Internet Access
- Wi-Fi password; ask for the password at the counter. No time limit.
Fresh Flours (Phinney Ridge)
Typical weekday hours: π’ 6am - 5pm
Address: π 6015 Phinney Ave N Seattle, WA 98103
Wi-Fi speed: π Fast
π Good
- Excellent coffee from Onda Origins
- Delicious pastries and food; my favorites are the ham and cheese croissant, almond croissant, and azuki bean croissant.
- Friendly service, and you can also order ahead online if you're in a hurry.
- Wi-Fi is satisfactory.
π€ Meh
- Plenty of seating, but it can get crowded. There's a large room in the back with plenty of 2-top tables, but they are small and they're all up against the perimeter walls so it can feel a little tight. In the middle of the room there's a large shared table. There's also a bar area next to a long windowβthis is my favorite place to sit but it can get busy here so it's often occupied.
- It's not the warmest place, and it can get a little cold.
- The food and coffee may be pricey, but in my opinion, it's worth the price.
π Internet Access
- Password, ask at the counter. No time limit.
Coyle's Bakeshop (Greenwood)
Typical weekday hours: π’ 7am - 3pm
Address: π 8300 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103
Wi-Fi speed: β None available, use a Wi-Fi hotspot
π Good
- If you can provide your own internet (see below), this place has everything else you could ask for: some of the best pastries and coffee you can get in Seattle, a calm but busy atmosphere to keep you motivated, and friendly service.
- Plenty of seatingβsome booth-style seating along the interior wall, and low-top bar-style seating that faces the street with plenty of light to boost that Vitamin D.
- The staff are very friendly and it was easy to order. Very nice atmosphere with lots of timber. A mostly open kichen lets you see the staff hard at work on crafting pastries as you place your order.
- I ordered a savory scone and fruit tart/galette (topped with Apple filing). Both pastries were delicious, I especially enjoyed the scone's dill and cheddar flavors. My oat milk latte with a cardamom-flavored syrup was very tasty and different from my usual vanilla oat milk latteβI'm glad I tried something different.
π€ Meh
- No Wi-Fi, so you'll need to bring your own hotspot.
π Internet Access
- None
Living Room Cafe (Bitter Lake)
Typical weekday hours: π’ 8am - 2pm
Address: π 1008 N 109th St suite a, Seattle, WA 98133
Wi-Fi speed: π’ Slow (2.17 Mbps β / 0.48Mbps β)
π Good
- Really nice atmosphere and space. Woodsy, PNW, with industrial-style tables and decor.
- Ample seatingβa bar, a couch, a few lazy boys, several tables, and a nice bench seat that runs along the back (during my visit, I worked from the bench).
- The location is off the beaten path on highway 99/Aurora (not the most desirable location), so it doesnβt get too overcrowded.
- Service was friendly and quick.
π€ Meh
- The coffee wasn't my favorite.
π Bad
- The internet speed was extremely slow. This is not a suitable workplace if you rely on the internet for most of your work.
- I purchased a tuxedo muffin, which was quite dry.
π Internet Access
- One-time code is given after purchase; good for 2 hours only.
Uptown Espresso (Magnolia)
Typical weekday hours: π’ 6am - 5pm

- Lots of nice, cozy seating, including big sofa style chairs.
- Seems to be a lot of people here that like to work from home.
- I haven't tried their coffee, but their Chai tea latte is pretty good, and very spicy!
- I enjoyed their coffee cake.
- The service was friendly.
π Bad
- There's Wi-Fi, but it was pretty slow and unreliable, just like their other location in Delridge/North Seattle (see below). I had to use my hotspot.

Locations that do not have Wi-Fi
Below is a list of coffee shops and cafes in Seattle I've visited that do not have any Wi-Fi. I don't recommend working remotely from these locations unless you have a Wi-Fi hotspot device:
- Sound and Fog (North Seattle)
- Preserve and Gather (Greenwood)
